HBL ART presents our new artist from UAE: Shanzeh Shaikh!

Let us explore her artistic journey and fascinating life trajectory in the artist’s own words:

Creativity takes courage. A resin artist has to be fearless and confident as the fluid pouring process can be challenging and rewarding at the same time. I decided to learn and work as a resin artist when I saw the flow of rhythm in some resin artworks. It gave me the urge to try resin art and since then there was no turning back.

My artworks articulate the depth of colours and my personality which is close to nature. The luxurious look and prolific flow of colours tend to balance the mood and the eye movement. I would describe my art as esoteric.

Growing up, painting has been my escape from the daily routine. Art has given me the space and entrance to a new world full of colours and creativity. The resin art videos on Pinterest inspired me to rekindle the childhood creativity that I had lost while working in UAE.

It is more complicated than it looks.
Resin is a heavy liquid that when applied cannot be completely controlled. The colours can easily flow into one another and combine, so the final product can sometimes end up looking different to how you had originally planned. Unlike painting a picture, you have to relinquish control over resin.
